Welcome to the El Marino Yearbook 2007-2008 information site. Please see the "Big FAQ" below for the answers to most of your questions.

THE BIG FAQ

Who produces the Yearbook?
The Yearbook is supported by the PTA. Volunteers from El Marino put the Yearbook together every year.

Who prints the Yearbook?
The School District PTA chooses a company based on quality, service and cost. The printer provides us with production materials and a schedule, prints the books and delivers them to the school.

Is the Yearbook a fundraiser?
Yes this is a fund-raiser for the School District PTA / Culver City Council.

What are the specs on the next yearbook?
It will be in color, softbound, with about 52 pages.

What events and groups are typically in the yearbook?

• Undokai
• Halloween Carnival
• School Fundraising events
• After school clubs
• Taiko
• Odori
• Flamenco
• Choir
• 5th Grade baby photos

Do you accept photos from parents?
Yes! I would like to get photos of school events (Undokai, Halloween, Jeopardy etc.) focused on happy kids faces (not long shots of big groups). Of course I can’t guarantee submitted photos will be used in the Yearbook but I will try and use images that are good quality and show our kids in the best way.

What format do you accept photos in?
Since we are doing the book in digital format, we need photos in digital format.
Photos on CD can be placed in the Yearbook Cubby in the auditorium. Make sure you contact me so I can pick them up. You can also email photos to richardparr@sbcglobal.net . If you have questions about photo formats, size, etc. please contact me.

When are 5th Grade Baby photos due?
Our baby photo coordinator will inform all 5th grade parents. We will make sure the photos are returned to the students. Contact (Your Name Here) for more information.

How can we contact you?
My work phone is 310-754-3807, home phone 842-7511, cell is 310-435-7452. My email is richardparr@sbcglobal.net

When do you start selling the Yearbook?
We have a Yearbook Presale before Spring Break. We will be sending home notices with your student(s). Since we almost ran out last year I suggest you get your order in early (by June 1st) so you won’t have to scramble during the last week of school.

How much does the Yearbook cost?
Full-color Yearbooks are only $15 (less than a couple of double Ventis and a pastry at Starbucks).
Use the envelope that your student will bring home in his/her backpack. Checks should be made out to “El Marino Language School PTA”. Have your student give the envelope to his/her teacher OR turn it into the office. You can turn in your money up until the end of the school year but the longer you wait the less chance there is of you getting a copy since the printing is limited. Don't Miss Out!

I want to help with the Yearbook! What volunteers do you need?

Yearbook Orders Assistant

Another volunteer may be needed to help manage the Yearbook orders along with Leandra Kamba. This involves getting class rosters from the office and keeping track of who has ordered etc.

Yearbook Distribution Coordinator
When the yearbooks come in we need someone to hold onto them until the last week of school. Then separate the yearbooks into the correct number for each class and put them in the teacher’s cubbies along with a roster (supplied) of the students who have ordered.

After school Yearbook Sales Volunteer(s)
These volunteers will sell the leftover yearbooks, if there are any, after school during the last week.
